I bought the DX7 on a flea market, and it turned out it had a replacement board called the DX MAX(4).
And it looks like this

- the MAX software is programmed inside it
- NEC is "Nippon Electric Company" (Nippon = Japan in Japanese)
- for consumers, the company is better known under the name Packard Bell

- SRAM (Static CMOS RAM) Chips, the Low Power version of the "NEC D4364C-15".
